I just noticed that it has been nearly a year since I last posted a blog entry. That just leaves me with a year that is a bit blurry in my mind. Much has happened in the last year!
-We bought a home(townhome/condo) in South Jordan! It has been such a blessing to have our own home. We all miss living with my parents at times, but lucky for us, we are only half a mile away from them, so we can visit as often as we'd like.
- Josh graduated from Nursing school in August and began a job as a RN shortly after that. He has been working the night shift, and to be honest, it's been really rough! Through the holidays he was being cancelled at least a shift a week, which left us with less money than we were making before becoming an RN. Things seem to be picking up again, and we are very grateful! He is learning tons, and really enjoying the job-besides the lack of work. We recently discovered that he probably has sleep apnea, and are just waiting for a call to schedule a sleep study. With any luck, some treatment will help him sleep better so he can actually feel rested!
-Our beautiful daughter turned 8, and was baptised! I honestly can't figure out how she has grown up so quickly and is really turning into a not so little person. I'm just happy that I have a little girl, so we can do girl things together! I'm thinking she is going to turn out a lot girlier than I am. :)
-Tenderheart started first grade, and is apparently a little social butterfly. He doesn't like focusing on good handwriting, but has been getting better at reading. He loves sports, and being active. He and Josh have taken up skateboarding, and have enjoyed going to the skate park to practice. He is kind of like a ticking time bomb emotionally, and I can plan on a meltdown before bedtime. He's currently in a sneaky naughty break/cut/steal phase, and I'm not quite sure what to do about it. I feel like I need to lock up anything important in the house to keep it safe from him. ha. He does have a good heart, and says the most meaningful prayers.
-Cuddle bug, turned 5. He is a very affectionate boy, and really wants to do what is right. He gets defensive and feels left out from the 'big kids'. He can't wait to start Kindergarten this fall. He is way too smart for his age, and I think he's going to do really well in school. We only had one visit to the ER in the last year for his allergies. His eczema is still around, but nothing like it used to be. He is kinda a tough guy, and I think he could give Tenderheart a run for his money in combat. We don't encourage this behavior obviously, but I'm learning that with boys- it happens.
-Q is adored by all. He is a wiggly, snuggly, loud little boy. He love giving kisses, and we all love receiving them. <3 Church has become a challenge with him, but if I remember right, that is very typical between 12-18 months. One of these weeks we will make it all the way through Sacrament meeting again. (I hope!!)
-I am in a new phase of life I'm not familiar with, Weight gain. Seriously, I guess I need to get off of my behind and move I guess(I feel like I'm always on the move with the kids). I'm sadly tired of people asking me if I am pregnant. I know I can improve my diet as well, like giving up DP- my stress reliever. Anyway, I hope to somehow use this blog to help motivate myself to get moving and make healthier choices(including making quality time for myself)! I started selling MaryKay briefly, mostly so I could use the discount for myself, but am now deciding whether I want to continue and stay active. I'm really not your typical MaryKay lady, and wish it worked a bit more like Avon. :) So besides feeling a bit overwhelmed with life and home, that's me in a nutshell.
Here is to a new blog! My life is full of memorable stories and quotes from our silly family. I hope to get some input from each of you too! I miss blogging communication.---> that means comments are welcome.<3
You are ADORABLE! I'm sure the weight gain is obnoxious to you, but don't forget that you are gorgeous regardless of size. :) I LOVE the new haircut you posted on FB... And... There are a million changes I hadn't heard about!!! Graduation? New house (happy day!!!)? WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteDid you know I did Mary Kay for a little while? It was so fun, and I loved the discount (I still have some make-up leftover, thank goodness, from two years ago), but it's so hard to do with little kids. I feel like I'm not doing either thing the way I should.
Woohoo! Glad to see a new blog. So when are you coming to play? lol
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see you blogging again! Shauna sells Mary Kay for the sole purpose of getting us all a discount. If you ever want to buy stuff at a discount, but don't want to sell, I can hook you up.
